Accreditation Commissions

Group of business people

ABET's four commissions lead and conducts its accreditation activities.  Each one reviews programs related to different sectors of the technical disciplines:

The commissions are responsible for reviewing educational programs and rendering decisions about their accreditation. Their members make final decisions about all program accreditation actions, except for appeals, which fall to the Board of Directors.

Each accreditation commission is responsible for the continuous review and enhancement of its particular criteria, policies, and procedures. All changes to the accreditation criteria and policies require approval by the Board.
